katmaidog 0 Posted February 21, 2007 I don't understand the thought process of the member who rated this a 4/3. To me the aesthetics are incredible. The balance of light and shadow is very pleasing. The photo feels nicely grounded with the heavier blocks of darkness in the lower 1/2, and the splash of light coming from the visible beams to the ledge on the right is marvelous. A real peaceful dreamscape, albeit with the added danger of the turbulent water below. It's all serenity above and then there's that threatening current. One can almost hear the sound of the water. The clean lines of the bridge add a lot of inmterest to what would otherwise be "just" a beautiful nature photo. The light blue sky bisected with the darker blue mountain is a wonderful background. As far as originality (a hard thing to achieve) this one does it for me if for no other reason than the vantage point from which you took the picture. Top-notch. Well done. Applause. Link to comment
gp1664880838 0 Posted February 21, 2007 Now this is a beautiful picture. Theme, capture, light, colors, mood, warmth - everything exactly as it should be. Simply a perfect shot. Link to comment
patflynn 0 Posted February 21, 2007 Contrary to Matt, I think the bridges are the problem here. The composition and execution are excellent, but the two bridge spans detract a little from the nature. I imagine that's why someone rated this average. I do like it that you haven't pulled in the foreground in post processing - the result is a very pleasing starkness. Link to comment
