susan stone 0 Posted February 20, 2007 You timed your visit about right....lots of nice clean snow to add graphic interest to your compositions. Your exposures are right on and an excellent job of color renditions. I love the curving line of the snow along the fender. I'm enjoying "watching" the Montana posts from you, Shawn and Juan. bosshogg 4 Posted February 20, 2007 Thanks. When and if you move to Utah, you are gonna be one homesick girl. You are quite right about the snow. A local photographer friend was complaining to me about the fact that we are not going to have any to spruce up our images from around here. Oh well. As far as Montana images, I don't see any way that I am going to do them as well as you and Juan already do, so I'll pretty much be copy catting what you guys are already doing. But I do appreciate the kind comments. Take care. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted February 20, 2007 I second Susan's comments. I would clone out the blurred grass in the RH corner. Somehow it doesn't belong there, to my taste. Cheers from above 2, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 20, 2007 Thanks. I like the touch of grass in the corner, but I will admit that I wish I had taken it with the grass more in focus. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted February 20, 2007 And she got the name right this time......here's a thought on the grass....out of focus it's just a "hint" of the area around the old truck, in focus I think you'd need more grass to add some graphic detail, so my vote is just leave it the way it is, it somehow seems to balance that corner, think of it as a "whisper" from summer. Sometimes we just get too technical and forget to just visually enjoy. Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted February 21, 2007 Beautiful, David. Excellent composition, color and winter snowy light. I like the grass in the corner and the arch on the left. Very nice variations in tones and shapes. Hope you had a nice vacation in Montana. Regards, Laurent. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 21, 2007 Thanks. I did have a very photographically successful run in Montana, and will be boring the world with the pics for a few weeks. Link to comment
