I do! I like the focus point where it is because it anchors the shot then draws me in. If the focus were in the center I'd start at the center and leave the frame.

I like the color and light on the chain.

Chris, Thanks for your input. Jamie has answered you for me though. This wouldn't work with the focus where you suggest. If you don't believe me... try it an see!

Jamie, Thanks a lot. I do agree with you.

Micki, Quite simple really. I am glad you like it. Thanks a lot.

Gady, Thanks for giving your opinion. I think if all the chain was in focus, you would lose part of the feeling that the chain is going away from you.

Thanks everyone.

Hi David, dof and lighting work perfectly for me, it does gives a more 3D effect to have the focus on the 1/3 point. And it has a simple but very effective composition. Thanks a lot for your comments on my work, really appreciate it :)

A very nice simple image. I wouldn't want to see the chain entirely in focus, the out of focus areas continually lead my eyes back to the focal point, which in my humble opinion is well placed. The tones, black and gold and completely clear BG make it for me. What's that red thing in the BRC though?

Teresa, Thanks for the reciprocation. It's always nice when you stop by. I tend to only comment on photos that I happen upon. I guess I must happen on yours more than others.

Jim, I entirely agree with you on this one... but then I would, wouldn't I? The 'thing' in the brc is a chilli. ---See here--- I am not sure why I started using it as a signature but I did. Thanks a lot.

David,

I like the lighting here as well as the fading off into the distance. It makes me want to know where it goes. Does if just hang on a hook on the wall or is there a ship at the other end? A big part for me is what I don't see. I like the soft tones you have used on a strong object. I think it is well composed. Thank You for sharing.

It is a chain surrounding a building in Hong Kong. I can't remember which building. This was taken a long time ago. I am glad you like this. Self praise is no praise but I do like this myself.
