Hello Clayton. This photo is very simple. Everything in it (except for the watermark) comes together so well. This photo has definitely the wow factor. The framing is great, the light magic, the sign "Legend" backgrounded by empty blue sky and on the other side of the photo counter-balanced by the nice looking, lit, clouds. The railway sucks the eyes right in and where it "ends" all the way in the back is where the sky is split in the two halves (blue with the sign vs. lit clouds). Even each rail is lit differrently. The left one is lit by the setting (or rising?) sun which balances with the right side of the railway (sorry, don't know the proper technical name) lit by the sun. Conversely, the rigt rail is in the shade, which balances with the left side of the railway being in the shade. The more I'm looking at this photo the more I like it. This deserves top points for aesthetics and originality shouldn't be much behind. Do the folks that rate the photos really have a good look at them, or is this just my liking of this photo so much? Cheers, Micheal

I don't know Mr. Kraml, I've given up trying to figure out why people on photo.net rate things the way they do. From one photo to the next, there just doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why I get the rates I get. Sometimes my stuff suddenly gets viewed and rated a ton, and then I see a drop off. Personally I think the work I've been posting since about october has been of a pretty consistant level, but the way the photos have been rated you wouldn't be able to tell.

And it always seems to be the anon ratings. Sometimes they treat me well, sometimes not so much. I guess it's just who's online at the time, their personal preferences and moods.

Thanks for viewing, enjoying and commenting.

Catalin, thank for your continued interest.

Classic composition, great in 3rds, excellent as all lines converge to center vanishing point. I also like the fact that you have included the sign to break the composure and add further interest to the shot
