mark_kay 0 Posted February 7, 2002 Any comments on this photo? I took driving to work today. Glad I had my camera. Canon D30 with 300/2.8 lens and 1.4x teleextender. mark Link to comment
crawf 0 Posted February 7, 2002 Nice. It works better than the other cormorant shot you have both because of pose of the bird and background. Link to comment
claire_d 0 Posted February 7, 2002 I like it. I pretty much have given up on birds. only one bird shot ever worked for me, and even then its marginal. (its on my webpage, but not here. its of some blue footed boobies.) in galapagos there wer lots of flightless cormorants(sp?) and even though they were flightless, they were still just as active. gotta give you props for being able to find a bird that held still long enough! I like it. especially the detail in the feathers. thats the first thing that stood out to me. Link to comment
bob stewart jacksonville 0 Posted February 8, 2002 nice pose, nice blurred background, great exposure (I love the detail in the feathers, hard to do on a dark bird) but isn't the eye a little out of focus? Did you use autofocus? If you let the EOS system select the focusing point it tends to lock in on the nearest point giving great focus on the near wing, but soft on the eye. Just looking at the result I'm guessing that might have happened here. Link to comment
mark_kay 0 Posted February 8, 2002 Bob I think the eye is a tad less sharp. I have some more shots where the eye is sharper Link to comment
