birds - various In Formation??

This is very cool, Kim.

I was trying to sneak up on these Sandhill Cranes (yeah, right!). This is what I got.

What I find cool about this shot is your perspective. It feels as though we're soaring with the birds.

If you could have heard the dialog during these shots, it was all x-rated! I was so upset they flew off before I got to them, but I went ahead and shot in-flight pictures anyway.

My emails to you are bouncing, with this error: The user does not accept email in non-Western (non-Latin) character sets.

How strange - I'll have to check settings and see if I can figure it out, Mark!

I think I saw your flock fly by today! :) Seriously, though, I did see a flock of some large birds (the sun got in my eyes so I couldn't see them clearly). Their necks were way to long to be geese and their call was not something I was familiar with...sigh, I wish I had seen them clearly. Anyway, I think this capture is really great! The way they fly through your image with those big wings spread is incredible. Bet it was amazing to see...even if it did make you swear a bit :)

 

 

They definitely are amazing to see even if you don't get to take a picture! There were probably at least 50-60 of them, maybe even more! We'll be back tomorrow to try our luck again.

Well done. . a very nice alignment, Kim . . . I hope you get a chance to get closer. . I've been hoping to make the pilgrimage to see these cranes for a while now. . maybe next year. .
