I felt that I should try to crop this to comply with the rule of

thirds but I decided not to. I would love get your opinions on this

because I just can't decide . . .

Nice work combining the two images. I don't think you need to crop, the composition works very well as it is.

cheers. Pete

Ted, glad you like the reflections, so do I :-) I few minutes after I took this shot the wind picked up and the nice mirror effect was gone. I caught it just in time.

Peter, thanks for your answer to my question. The image is full frame and I felt that I could not crop without loosing that great reflection or the grasses on the bottom left.

Nice of you both for taking the time.

Don't crop Kim, if you ask me.;-))It has a nice atmospher. I like the tree framing a part of the scene. Seren harmony in that composition., and beautiful sky. The bridge is well palced on the frame as well.

Thank you Pulok and Pnina for your fine visits! It was a very serene morning. Nice that you both pointed that out.

Pnina, it's only after someone mentioned the rule of thirds to me and it got me thinking but I agree with you about the not cropping. We will see if anyone else disagrees with us:-)

Actually Kim you do have the rule of thirds just not in equal proportions; you've got sky, you've got structures, and you have reflections in the water. My only thought would be to crop only a little of the dark foreground so as to place the bridge/horizon not so close to center stage, not too much as I like the "spikey" silhouettes that the foliage creates.

Hi Susan! Your suggestion of cropping a little off the bottom was the only one I considered. Thanks for explaining the thirds, I always thought it had to be more equal parts. Nice of you to stop by.

I agree, don't crop top or bottom. And you can make "thirds" out of it if you look at the fluffy clouds as the top third, the clearer sky and bridge as middle third, and the fluffy cloud reflection as the bottom third :)

Thank you Claude. I am very familiar with this view. We have very different views of the city you and I. I'm so glad you like it!
