leroy laverman 0 Posted February 17, 2007 Magnificent bird. There seems to be a wide halo around the subject- photoshop artifact?? One of these was spotted in Santa Barbara a week or so ago. First time ever here for this bird. Must have gotten way, way off course to wind up here. Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted February 18, 2007 Thank you for stopping by to comment Andrew and Leroy. . . California is a long way from home for one of these guys. . I've seen them in the wild in SE Texas. . but it's hard to appreciate their beauty from a distance. . I reposted the image. . the halo appears to be gone on my computer. . . Link to comment
leroy laverman 0 Posted February 18, 2007 I altered the image to highlight the halo that I'm seeing. Not sure what it's from but there it is. Doesn't really detract all that much from this fine photo. Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted February 18, 2007 I'll have to rework it before I print it. .I know what caused it now. . I roughly outlined the bird with the lasso in order to sharpen it while excluding most of the background during the sharpening process. .it's not present in the original raw image. . Link to comment
leroy laverman 0 Posted February 18, 2007 I wondered if it was something like that. It didn't look like simple posterization to me. I'll bet it will look great on your wall. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 24, 2007 Excellent shot, Donna. I'm amazed at their hairy faces! I got a close-up of one and hadn't realized they were hairy and had eyelashes until then! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 26, 2007 Wonderful Caracara dear Donna :D) I am so ignorant when birds are in question! Lucky me I can manage with birds kinds :) but for the rest ... so, I never saw such bird - caracara :) has such wonderful colors! Sometimes I feel so happy and lucky that we have all the nature and animals and birds on earth, and not only Our Human Feelings and Emotions, mostly sad ones :( So, my eyes are enjoying while looking at your colorful birds dear Donna :) Thank YOU :) Biliana Link to comment
