Little Green Heron-Ready to Strike

this is a nice shot as it is. since you have used post processing i would suggest making the water colour just a little lighter. it looks dirty with bits in and i believe those bits would be eliminate and it would look a lot cleaner.

this picture reminds me of the grey heron down cardiff bay wildlife waterresort last summer. i just could not get close or find a suitable high ground to take a picture. it would fly away for a hundred metres or so. so you should be praised to have got the shot in the first place as i know these birds are twitchy!

Contrary to your experience these birds in Florida are the most dedicated posers of all the birds. They stand still as statues for long periods of time and don't mind your presence even at very close range.
