williammccarey 0 Posted February 16, 2007 Very nice image. The eye is looking right at you. The feather detail is great. The overall focus is excellent. Very, very nice. The white balance is off a little as the bird should be bright white in the image areas where it now looks softly white...just under & behind the eye and just behind the wing. This is a 7/7 except on PN where it is a forced 6/6 Link to comment
Dieter Schaefer 20,221 Posted February 16, 2007 If I apply levels in PS, I can easily correct for the white balance (as I have done in one of the previous posts) but also get a bright blue sky. This was shot later in the day, so on this one I decided to keep the yellowish cast from the late afternoon sun. Regards, Dieter Link to comment
williammccarey 0 Posted February 16, 2007 Dieter, it would be better to use the RAW image settings to adjust the WB when you open Camera RAW before Photoshop. If you need to use your processed jpeg image, then use the magnetic lasso tool and feather your edges. You can then brighten only the area within the lasso. Try it, you'll like it! Link to comment
Dieter Schaefer 20,221 Posted February 16, 2007 William, would use the RAW file if I actually had one. Tried the magnetic lasso and it worked very well; thank you. Regards, Dieter Link to comment
mary fran 0 Posted February 17, 2007 I vote for the mod too, great shot, sharp, excellent focus and again nicely placed in the frame. That tool is a wonderfully friendly one, unlike the clone tool! Nice job Deiter. Link to comment
