Emmanuel, Thanks for your comment. It was feezing cold outside so I wandered about the house looking for things to shoot with my wife's (so she thinks, anyway :-)) new Canon A540. Spotted this & felt it worth the effort. Best, LM.

Hi Len, nice composition of a flower. I like the way you have framed it , the focal point on the 1/3 right a bit diagonal ,not that it is always important but I like it in this one, and good delicate texture on the petals. I like as well the soft colors.( you have a " love" connection with all magenta nuances ;-)) It is grainy though ,did you crop it from a larger frame? In any event, nice find for a cold day, as well as trying your wife's new aquisition....

Pnina, Now that you mention it, I do seem to gravitate toward magenta:-) As for the grain, I thought I had set the camera at ISO 200 but it was in fact 400. That plus a bit of (over?) sharpening may have caused the 'grain'. I'll have to pay closer attention to that aspect next time. Thanks for responding. Best, LM.

This is beautiful - is it really paper? It does not look like paper.. The light and shadows are beautiful and it is a very striking colour!

Jan, You have a good eye! And I was the one within 12" of it:-( I looked again and found it to be made of some kind of fabric but definitely NOT a real bloom. Best, LM.

Carsten, Yes, these Point-and-shoot's have their strengths and weaknesses and I am making discoveries at both ends :-() Best, LM.
