At a different time of day, would the shadow be completely below the crossbar? I'd like that better.

Shadow probably would be better if lower, but the commute from California to Portugal is a b...tch! :-) However, my inlaws don't live far from there, so next time I'm in the area I'll try to give it a shot. Thanks for stopping by
