arash khoshghadam 0 Posted February 14, 2007 I was sauntering down the path when I caught sight of this guy sitting on the slope of that rock. I quickly scanned the scene and put it in a mental frame. I was specially awe-stricken with the singleness of the motif and the strong repetition of the diagonal lines. I quickly grabbed my 20D and put the scene in the viewer. I was lucky To take my time to check the composition before pressing the shutter botton because ion the mean time the man rose and stretched out his hands as if to say a prayer. I instantly saw everything in making and I bagged the shot. Link to comment
harri 0 Posted February 14, 2007 This is an excellent shot, a perfect composition. I was just wondering if there is anything one can do the increase the sharpness and the contrast of the background...? Link to comment
arash khoshghadam 0 Posted February 15, 2007 Thank you very much for visiting and commenting. The original image is bitingly sharp. This is a PS simulation of a soft focus filter from the analogue camera days. It is called Gaussian blur mask to improve mood through softening up the image. As for the sky I should say I have gone as far as could and have thrown in every bit of my knowledge into trying to improve that region. I can only think of one technique called Digital Split Density Filter which does the same job as an ND grad filter does. Link to comment
