arash khoshghadam 0 Posted February 12, 2007 Very compelling with good visual elements: similarity and proximity of elements leading to rhythm to produce continuation of optical movement. Multitudinousness of elements diversified to the point of the confusion of the viewer since the eyes isn't provided the big picture or elements they can associate with the real world experience. The sensation is there but perception is at a loss. The symmetrical composition is strangely disturbed by the diagonality of the optical movement. The clash between these visual principles is a whirlpool that leaves the brain hanging there trying to find out a solution to reach "peace" and to decide whether a pleasant or unpleasant object is being watched. that's what our brain does: trying to trim the corners, to simplify the complexities, to even out the irregularities, to reach definitive clear-cut solutions to instigate action and to evade indecisiveness and mystifying or the equal gravity of conflicting forces that never end in the defeat of one side and the triumph of the other. This is the situation you have visually shove the viewer into. If only there weren't one minor glitch ( if that's the proper word to pick ) you would win for sure. tell you what: crop out the last and only clue for the brain to arrive at a solution; the tips of the boots is my eyes and brains finally work out to tell me " don't you worry fellow. this is not an alien being from outer space, these are ordinary boots you can buy if you shell out" Thanks.
