mmmee 0 Posted February 11, 2007 Now this is a fantastic macro abstract. I looks like you are having fun with that new macro lens. What is the lens? I have been looking at some work like this where the insect wing is put on a light box and mega macro-ed. I like the darker background on your photo, though. Incredible colors. Care to tell us how you did this? Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted February 12, 2007 The recognition you so well deserve for your skills......sorry I haven't been very active on PN lately, I'm so glad I didn't miss this image, this is just way too beautiful, very provocative and delicate. Excellent composition, this one raises the "bug shot" to a fine Art level! Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted February 12, 2007 Ok, I am back and see the lens and the ability to rate. As you know, I seldom rate any more. But this one I need for my favorites page. I like how you captured the sparkle of the light on the wings. Fairy dust? Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted February 12, 2007 Well actually, I wanted your thoughts on the hummingbird photo that I posted just after this one. I left the reds on the hot side, what do you think? I don't see red quite the way others do so I always look for comments. Thanks, Dave Link to comment

cherlyn 1 Posted February 13, 2007 Was this a cropped image, Dave? The details of the wings are amazing. Brilliant to use backlighting to enhance the uniqueness of this image. Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted February 13, 2007 Yes Cherlyn, cropped down thanks to a 10 megapixel camera. I had a full shot of the dragonfly but he had moved his head just enough that it wouldn't work so...Thanks for stopping by, Dave Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted February 14, 2007 Excellent macro-photography,Dave. Makes interesting abstract. Link to comment
