susan stone 0 Posted February 13, 2007 The "tent peggers" intrigue me, I find them to be very noble looking and colorful characters. A fascinating part of Pakistans history. An excellent rendition of the men and horses that play this sport. Are women allowed to be "tent peggers" and participate in this game? Link to comment
awaraagard 0 Posted February 14, 2007 well, they belong to very nobel families & strictly follow family traditions. very origional in approach & strongly belong 2 their roots. women, unfortunately r not allowed 2 b tent peggers. people of rural punjab r very possessive about women. however, women play polo & take part in durby in lahore. foreign women do some tent peggeing in Pakistan but not the Pakistani women. regards! susan stone 0 Posted February 14, 2007 I appreciate that you took the time to answer my question, the answer was as I assumed it would be. In a country so steeped in tradition I figured "tent pegging" was a man's sport.......as well as it should be, and I respect that. Link to comment
