younes 0 Posted February 11, 2007 This is another sublime shot Tim. Although I wish we could see the whole tree. Well done again! Link to comment
shawn w callahan 0 Posted February 11, 2007 Great idea. Well thought out. I think it works better with a little less tree. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 11, 2007 These colors in the picture is very impressive. I gues you manipulated the lighthouse, and it shows (if it was) how useful and creative manipulation can be. Of course, even without the lighthouse the picture would be impressive. Link to comment
tholte 16,743 Posted February 11, 2007 Younes, Shawn and Janis, thanks!! Louis the lighthouse is that color, matched the brolly to a tee. I boosted the contrast and saturation a bit but relied on the setting sun to do most of my work. Link to comment
c. wesley hardwick 0 Posted February 12, 2007 I think you have hit on the balance so that your eye is directed to the subject (which could be red?). May I ask what lenses you rely on for most of this portfolio? I am attempting to build a Nikon Digital system myself, and like to take some of the same images (but funds are limited). You can email me at cwhard@att.net if you like. Link to comment
tholte 16,743 Posted February 13, 2007 Charles, I used a 24mm 2.8 AF Nikkor on my D70 for these umbrella shots because my 18-70 Nikon kit lens is stuck at 70mm. 90% of my other photos are with the 18-70 kit lens before it was damaged (by sand I think). Link to comment
eclecticbuzzard 0 Posted February 13, 2007 That umbrella sure does get around. And it manages to find such lovely landscapes to land in. Link to comment
kurt2006 0 Posted February 14, 2007 Tim, this image is making me think. Less tree, more tree, no tree. Your composition is intriguing and I am wondering if you are following a particular style or were inspired by someone else? There are details that interest me (the lines, the placement of elements, the horizon). Very interesting. Thanks. Link to comment
