jvoller 0 Posted February 12, 2007 Ahoj, Jano, thank you for your interest. Photos were made in the Museum of Embryology of the Department od Histology and Embryology (Medical Faculty in Pilsen, Charles University in Prague).I work at the Department of Pathological Physiology (as a research worker and educator) and some time ago I also cooperated with histologists. So when they wanted to make photodocumentation of prenatal development of human (and some other mammals)for the textbook they asked me to do this.I made "scientific" photos for their purpose and also some pictures from my own point of view - and these pictures are here in the series M.O.B.All the photos were made using black linen and black paper as a background, lights were just ceiling lamps and sometime old Sikl lamps as a source of proximate light. Minolta A1 (5MPx) was used, for detailed photos with close-up lenses (if I remember, Marumi, -1,-2 and -4 D).It was a week of very interesting and exciting work. Link to comment
alberto.prt 0 Posted February 12, 2007 Dear Jaroslav, of course you did a good work. But I was wondering if you have, before posting your image, thought about the effect that a 'dead body' macro can have on people. I found myself looking at a new life and discovering later it is dead child. Not a nice feeling. Thank you. Alberto Link to comment

haleh b 0 Posted February 13, 2007 What is the purpose of this image? To make the viewer sorrowful? To give us appreciation of life at the expense of a family's tragedy? This is a very attention grabbing image but in a very depressing/demising way. Link to comment
svend erik poulsen 0 Posted April 7, 2008 Disturbing - It's okay - keep touching the audience - enough "pretty" pictures out there. Link to comment
mnelson 0 Posted June 15, 2008 I think the most powerful images evoke an emotional response. They are not all pleasant, but being able to show reality in a way that makes us react is the magic of photography. It is this that becomes a reflection of the fragility of humanity. I appreciate this image a great deal. M Link to comment
willperson 0 Posted June 15, 2008 I agree with M Nelson...those which evoke an emotional response make powerful images. This is an interesting series you have created here and it certainly stirs an emotional response from me, as it should most people. Keep up the good work! Link to comment
