Guest Guest Posted February 9, 2007 Douglas-- This is a really gorgeous shot and I especially like the deep warmth of the earthtones in the foreground, echoed by the sunlit rocks in the background. The twig and the patterns in the wet sand are very sensuous and so well executed. The twig almost floats. As I am trying to improve my own color work, I am so impressed with what you've got here. My only question would be the color of the sky. It seems a little too electric or something, like the cyan could be toned down. Would love to hear your thoughts on that. Link to comment
dougbrill 0 Posted February 9, 2007 As always thanks for the encouraging comments. The sky was so boring in the original shot that I had to do something with it. Mostly it was overexposed. I increased saturation to bring out whatever blue I could. I agree that a more natual looking sky would be better. I'll be posting a few other shots from this day at the beach and the shots from earlier have a nicer sky. Link to comment
