mvisionphotography 1 Posted February 7, 2007 Two years after IVAN hit FLORIDA I was taking pictures of a sunset where a house was torn from its foundation I saw this Barbie Doll laying on the by some old wires and old Christmas Lights. (sigh) Tears... See the glass... see the pain that this doll went through! Two years of no love! (sigh) ~ I counted out of 22 houses only 7 were still standing on one block ~ two years later. mvisionphotography 1 Posted February 7, 2007 Biliana's pictures and this doll have touched me today. We lost a house that we lived in on the beach after we had moved to Japan. IVAN hit it two years ago so I am very close to the subject. When we moved back to America (US) the house was gone, nothing there and we were very sad. We do not live on the beach at all this time. So yes this is hard to see :[ Link to comment
jan_piller 0 Posted February 7, 2007 A very sad commentary - but a very good docu-photo. We must remember how many people are displaced and in refugee centers because of big storms and war etc. We are truly blessed. This is a good photo to share. Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted February 7, 2007 Yes... today I am doing alot of remembering everywhere around the world... including here on photo.net by giving gifts ;) I suggest others do the same that can, it is a small thing but there are some that can't. It is a small gesture but some of us take for granted the ability to go out and have a meal while others do not have anything but a camera and a heart for art. Link to comment
joanbn 0 Posted February 8, 2007 I can understand the pain as well. Last year, my sister and her husband moved in with us as they lost everything during the Hurricane in Ft. Lauderdale. Link to comment

mcpoljak2003 0 Posted October 7, 2007 The death of the American Dream. Does it really exist or is it just a figment of a collective imagination. Link to comment
mcpoljak2003 0 Posted October 7, 2007 Metaphor - hell yes. Take your pick: drugs, broken dreams, natural/man-made disaster, wrong place-wrong time. It's all there, just depends on one's perspective. MP> Link to comment
