These kids in Basha (see my other pictures too from the same village)

enjoyed being photographed very much. I wonder how often they wash

themselves:-)

Critiques and ratings are welcome.

Biliana, thank you very much for your appreciation, although I will completely have to agree with George on this one. Having traveled in this province (the poorest one in China) many times, I have to say that however sad their circumstances seem to the eyes of those who have not spent some time with them, after talking to the people of these villages, staying in their houses, eating their food and living their life for a while it becomes astonishingly clear that these people are not missing ANYTHING from life. "You do not need a TV to live a full life" would have been my slogan for the next picture that I am going to upload. For someone living in developed countries, it is a very surprising experience to find out that these people are just as happy as anyone in their three-story house with the swimming pool in the back yard. Yes, they do have their everyday problems, but that is normal. They have to work hard and they don't earn much money (an ANNUAL income of $40/person at this part of the country was not rare just three years ago), but as they don't know there is a different kind of life, they don't long for it. The sentence with which I ended my presentations about this part of China was "Help them, but don't feel sorry for them. They are not sorry for themselves". And in fact, if you, as a traveler showed pity for them, they would really not understand why.
