I like very much composition, and atmosphere of this photo.

Texture and tone of the sky give some feeling of anxiety, tree on the left is cutting through. Only thing I would question is the first plan mountain which I would crop a little.

I love your presence here and your caring to dedicate a critique. I do appreciate your view and will make a mental note of your suggestions and hints, specially you, Mark, for your thoughtful succinct analysis and careful analysis of graphic and emotional content.

Arash, my eye is (delightfully) confused by whats going on in this shot, and thats a compliment! The movement of all those perpendicular diagonals seems anchored by the black tree, and the mountains (?) on the left. Very imaginative and well done.

Much thanks for your presence here and your kind comments. You give me a terrific encouragement.

Dave, I am obsessed with diagonal lines. They defy human's instinctive desire for balance ( as stated by Gestalt psychology principles of perception ), so anywhere I see diagonals, I capture them. This particular shot has diagonals going in different directions, so , as you said it perfectly, they are quite confusing, since the brain wants to correct the imbalance inherent in diagonal lines.

i browsed through your portfolio and this bw photograph made me stop

it has great composition of struggling diagonals of all kinds

well supported with tonalities and different textures

i am short of words but this image surely makes one stop and experience the winter beauty

i think there're several possible crop versions but the overall expression is very good

thank you & good luck

Thank you, Ian. I am grateful for your kindness and your perception so fluently expressed. I got back to the shot you have captured but sadly found no response. I am really craving to know your opinion in that regard, too.
