henrimanguy 0 Posted February 6, 2007 La Mazade with the passing days (Continuation)The same day, about 9 p.m. When we got back from an excursion I see above my landscape some magnificent little red clouds in a dark limpid blue sky. I know that it will not last long, so I have to act fast. But you must not for all that push on the release mechanism without thought. While placing the tripod and the camera on it, I think that if I take a general measure, the superb red colour of my clouds could well be greatly made dull. On the other hand, if I take the measure of the light on the clouds, all the earths landscape will be too dark and without detail. Conversely, if I expose for the ground, the clouds will be overexposed. The solution is evidently to use a gradient grey filter on the sky. So, taking the measure on the ground, the filter will lessen the higher brightness of the sky and the clouds will be not overexposed nor the ground underexposed. I take the shot with the 28 mm. Some seconds after, the light on the clouds has already deeply gone down and they have become almost grey..To be continuedLink with the presentation. La mazade with the passing days Link to comment

Michel Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted February 10, 2007 The light on the clouds is excellent. A fine addition to the series. Link to comment
ada-ipenburg 0 Posted February 11, 2007 Hi Henri, It seems to me if you can't get enough of that place you have celebrated your vacations. I suppose you must have made thousands of pictures there. But that wonderful place is it more than worthy. This picture in the series is very special because of the golden clouds; some sort of a present form heaven. Warm Regards, Ada:) Link to comment

henrimanguy 0 Posted February 12, 2007 Thank you all for your comments. Ada, I have made perhaps about fifteen photos of this landscape (counting the large panoramic views made with 3, 4, 5 or plus shots). I have taken at least one shot a day during three weeks. Link to comment
mspanakis 0 Posted February 14, 2007 Very nice clouds and I like the contrast of the yellow and blue. I am not sure about the chimney in the foreground... I would prefer to see more of the house perhaps. Link to comment
kurt2006 0 Posted February 15, 2007 Henri, the foreground is so dark but this is very good because it adds a peaceful quality in the last light of the day. Cheers. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted March 2, 2007 Thank you for those new comments. Manolis, I am not sure also about the chimney but I decided to leave it there even though. About the houses, there is another building hiden by the tree on the right, but there was only one possible view point, as I have said, this one, from the door of the house were we lived in. But in my opinion, this only farm building seen between two bunches of trees is better than more houses. Regards, Henri Link to comment
