Ethereal

lallisig

Was trying to get a "waterpainting" look to this image, painted the bright rock in the center with a flashlight. There is absolutely no editing in this image except for basic raw conversion, the color tones are achieved from a mixture of ambient+flashlight coloring, only tweaked the overall color of the image slightly with a white balance adjustment.

30 second exposure, f5 and iso 100.

doing it with post processing, look at the details if you want to know

more.

I have often thought about the idea of painting using a flashlight and what the results might be. This is truely outstanding in the effort, technique, application and finally the end result! I wish there were more categories than simply aesthetics and originality to rate as there is more to photography than just that and this one proves it.

Wow! Really immpresive. The colors, textures, sharpness juxtaposed with smooth water captivates the attention. Excellent image.

This is just another offering of yours that is truly inspiring. I've looked at your portfolio and love them all. I come to photo.net for inspiration and ideas. Your photos are at the top of the list. 7/7

I almost passed this up because, as a thumbnail, I thought it was just another piece of "Photoshop art". There is so much "Photoshop art" out there that it is no longer very original. Honestly, I am getting kind of sick of it. But then I read about your technique and was relieved to find out that someone is still making spectacular photograghs by experimenting in the field instead of at a desk. Thank You. You get a 7 for originality because of that.

It is truly beautiful, magical and wonderfull.

Had it been done in photoshop i would have said the same.

it's about being beautiful and your visison, and how you achieve it is not important as long as it is beautiful and photoshop is also a tool to achieve beauty in your photographs, imo, lol.

it's all about vision and imagination..the end result of yours is not from this world...beautiful.
