it's not a three but I will give you a comment anyway. Like the photo, the colors and a great reflection. Would have been nice to see more of the pillars though.

Thanks for your comment, Ted.

The cropping of the boards was deliberate because there's a crappy looking industrial landscape along the shore in the b/g that would have spoiled the picture if included.

Thanks for looking,

...to my midwestern eyes. Our snow and bare bark landscape is stark and beautiful, but seeing the gold and sapphire here does stir some envy.

The crop works for me, although I would have agonized about it...whether to bring the right edge all the way over or, as you have, allow the margin of water to define the reflected object's size. The slight ripples add shimmery highlights to the coppers and golds of the aged wood. And yet the water surface is smooth enough to lend tranquility to the scene. It would be a very pleasant photograph to live with.

Yes, I hope so, since I just sold a print of it.

I'm not sure which I prefer, this or the more abstract reflection only. Both are "gold" to me.

Thanks for your comments,

Charles-- personally, I prefer this one as the nonreflected boards on top ground me and set up the beauty and movement of the reflected ones. The color of the boards is warm and inviting (and quite realistic) against a colder blue water. You will laugh when I say I would love to have seen the version with the industrial crap in the background. I might have liked the contrast (or, as you say, it might completely have destroyed the shot).

Absolutely gorgeous shot! I love when the sun makes wonderful colors on rocks. Thank you, by the way, for looking at my AF Memorial shots. Regards.
