Like the detail on the bird and the background. Whites are a bit hot; that's California sun to you. You climbed the ladder a bit higher than I did; I'll need to bring a longer one next time. Regards, Dieter

Perfect exposure of the bird. The background, however, is a bit bright and "busy" for my taste. Its colors compete with the bird's duller purples and browns.

A classic pose for easy identification: slightly recurved bill, purple moustache, white eyebrow. Very good image. Yeah, the background could have been less flamboyant and the chest maybe less bright, but this is a fine shot. Was it really taken in early Feb? This would be a very, very early arriving bird.

This would be a very, very early arriving bird" Taken in late Feb 2005 in Palm Springs, I'm heading out to drive there again on the 15th with several stops along the way for photo opportunities (I hope). I plan to visit a number of spots including the Salton Sea while there.
