Guest Guest Posted February 20, 2007 Excellent work Dennis! Best regards, Catalin PS By the way you are asking for ratings Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted March 3, 2007 the leaves in front of the central decorative tree are jarring, though. Link to comment
aginbyte 0 Posted March 3, 2007 ... but I've got two faults (at least) from my days as a film maker. The first is that I saw too many Adrian Lyne movies and I like blown out highlights, and the second is that I love foreground; above, below, on the side. I'll break myself of the habit someday (the highlights soonest, now that I've discovered HDR). Glad you liked the shot. Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted March 4, 2007 Surely not. Let the foreground encroach and the highlights burn! Link to comment
sondra kick 0 Posted March 18, 2007 Well balanced and beautiful, the framing of the leaves is good, but I think the photo would work well without them too. Link to comment
aginbyte 0 Posted March 19, 2007 ... went back last year and reshot this photo (weather was abysmal, however) and remember that the difficulty that I had was getting the shot so that I could still see the water in the pond. If I dropped in frame, the leaves were gone (and they were worse this year) but ... no water. If I moved to close (which I did this year), I cut into the rectangle of the pond too much. So, all in call, I guess I'll live with the leaves, because I was really thinking more about the levels going up to the distance. So all in all, I'd have to say that I actually don't like the leaves in the foreground any more, they are too much of a horizontal band at the top of the frame. Like the one in the left in front of the building, but would prefer to have lost the others, the ones in front of the sky. That being said, I prefer the 2005 version to the 2006 where I cut the pond rectangle. Link to comment
