abv 0 Posted February 2, 2007 The Jewish quarter, formerly known as the Jewish ghetto, covers the streets of Stikliu, Zydu, Jatku, Gaono, жarco and some others. Narrow and curved streets with cross arcades preserved their original appearance. Usually tall buildings had no gates and small and low doors were upholstered with iron. Some houses had only two windows. The shops were often only a couple of meters in depth and the doors substituted the window, too. Often the owners of such outlets would sit at the door inviting passers-by to drop in. Link to comment
