After so many exchange do I need to tell why I like this shot...construction works provide nice photo opportunites for original views/geometry that you never see anymore when work is finished...I like the fact that you've left entrance parts on righ and left as foreground and framing elements...then I enjoy the colors and clarity...my only improvement proposal is about the sky right...seems that a lower level adjustment would help balance it aginst the rest of the image (I have the same concern in most of my shots).

Thanks for the comment. I think you are absolutely correct about the sky. I don't know if I'm typical or not, but I find myself often so engrossed in the heart of a photo that I absolutely overlook flaws to the peripheral aspects of that photo. So, in my excitement, I will rush to post or to print an image, before it is truly as good as I can make it.

almost finished constructing, eh? So that's how you have your buildings down in sunny California - yellow carpets and no roofs. What for, when it's always sunny, right? What do you, guys, need the red lines for? Oh, that's why you call it "just follow the pattern" - so you know which way the hallways go, eh? I like the colours and the solid erections (regularly) spaced out. Cheers, Micheal

To me this is really a great shot, beautifully captured and composed. Excellent thanks to the many elements which seem to interact like in a ballet. Picture perspective, division, space and dimension playing together to give us a great interpretation. I think this is rare to capture so many elements at the same time. Those lines and poles guiding us into the picture are fantastic, and the red poles at the entrance are just fine. Besides, in this Lego construction game, the funny little human figures are right there on place to express life and movement and add an extra touch of harmonized colors. The diagonals and verticals are so effective. About the sky, that's the same problem over and over again with highlights. I find it as tough with the D2X not to blow them out. Well, David, I think you've understood I like the shot very much!

Once again, I am indebted to you for your wonderful analysis and commentary. I wish I had your ability to critique. As always, thanks. It is greatly appreciated.

Nice capture of a typical construction site. Good eye for line and perspective. I like how normally the red element in the forground would be a visual stop and hinderence from traveling freely in the image but for the red lines and the people in the background wearing red and orange. this makes me think of board game, only with live "action figures"..... :-)

i am attaching a suggested crop which cuts out the sky and brings us down into the site - merely a suggestion. i know exactly what you mean about getting excited about an image and posting it before it is really finished. i have gotten better about that, but it has taken some discipline.

Thanks for the comment. I'm honored that you would take the trouble to provide an alternative concept. I think I do like your crop better.

Insomnia must be driving you to desperate acts such as viewing my crap. And crap that dates back to ancient history at that! And, I didn't see a nude in there, but maybe I missed it?????????.......

Thanks, and perhaps it should be altered in such a way as to eliminate the sky and retain the concrete palm trees. Hell, maybe I shall add some fronds to those poor lifeless stalks. Then it might remind you of your paradisaical S.D.

Arrrgh! You found my secret! Meyer > Ambien! And BTW, if you erased the middle column (the one by the back wall), you would see the nude behind it. That's what the guy in the orange shirt is pointing at.
