cromwell1664877587 0 Posted February 1, 2007 Do I like this picture because I've never seen a red-bellied woodpecker at my feeder before and/or have never gotten a picture of one, or is it just a decent picture? Link to comment
armpro 0 Posted February 1, 2007 Excellent capture against a neutral background. This is the male because he has red on top of his head. The female only has red on her neck. Also, the female that visits my feeder doesn't have the red on the belly. Link to comment
ameripol 0 Posted February 1, 2007 i love how the stack of seed reflects the pattern of the wings. It's a great shot, clean, direct and intriguing. the shapes keep the eye moving and something to see at every 'cardinal' point of composition. Very nice photo as well as a nice bird. Link to comment
kbsimages 0 Posted February 1, 2007 I think it is a great pic!!! Color and Focus are wonderful. Nice how you got him with the seed in his mouth. I guess he got tired of bugs and wanted something different. I have had several of these at my feeder, but never when the camera was ready. I think you did a great job with the framing also. Excellent work, Kim Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted February 1, 2007 Wonderful capture dear Scott :) Love how the Red Bellied is hanging and eating! :) Biliana P.S. I saw today your Happy Colorful Drop, and I went again on your Water Portofolio :) I am redoing my drops, cause the previous years they were not so sharp! Link to comment
bgeg 0 Posted February 1, 2007 Nice Capture, I personally don't care for feeder shots, but if you like them this is an excellent capture! Regards, B. Link to comment
danielwreed 0 Posted February 1, 2007 It is hard to get a good shot of this bird that shows so well the red belly for which it is named. A more natural setting would be nice but this is a very good shot. Link to comment
cromwell1664877587 0 Posted February 1, 2007 Thank you, everybody. Bill, I think most people, including myself, are like you and generally don't care for feeder shots. I honestly didn't think I'd ever take one worth posting here and am glad I'm not the only one that likes it. Link to comment
rafikrkamel 1 Posted February 1, 2007 very nice shot chris, the details in the feathers are very nice, and the sunflower seed in its mouth is very nice, welldone, RK! Link to comment
cromwell1664877587 0 Posted February 1, 2007 My apologies, Don. I didn't mean to insult your work or other people's that take feeder shots. After shooting this I think I'm going to buy a better looking feeder and take a few more. All but 3 of my bird pics were either taken from the same window I shot this one from or one other window at a different part of my house. It's pretty obvious which ones they are...pelican, heron, and turkeys. Rafik - Who's Chris? :) Link to comment
