arash khoshghadam 0 Posted February 4, 2007 Another shot in the mourning ceremony series. The man who bent to light the candle was clad in black overcoat and he had doubled up so that his face fell out of view. Link to comment
snapshooter 0 Posted February 28, 2007 I really liked what you have done in this series, Arash. Particularly the candlelit grouping. Personally, I don't agree with some of the cropping, and admit that I'm unfamiliar with any cultural aspects. I can only go with my personal photographic instincts, and make suggestions based on those instincts. In this shot, the hands and candles are primary, and the modern watch is a distraction, to what seems to be an ancient ritual. I'd be most interested in your thoughts,of course. For me, content is foremost. The aesthetics is enhancing that content where necessary and/or appropriate. Your content in these is excellent. Really enjoyed your landscapes, as well. Link to comment
arash khoshghadam 0 Posted July 5, 2007 you're right about the watch, but the fact is the subject was moving and I could miss him if I took time thinking about if the watch suits the scene or not. I could clone it out later, of course. Thanks for your feedback. Link to comment
