Linda, This is excellent work, very rich in tone.....Ah, the beauty of the simple and natural scene, and you have brought that beauty out for the viewer.....Jim

a very dark and moody composition. I can smell the rain on the way. Doing my usual ultra-conservative framing, I would have gone with a white mat to set off the bright clouds and a thin black frame. But YOU are the graphics guru!

And ARGHHH! I cannot rate 7/7 because you got carried away and gave a similar rating! Gawd, what a system.

This is a very beautiful composition, well placed elements and light/dark balance. Your conversion method to b/w is perfect.

In this image I can feel the wind and the scent of the rain arriving. I believe it was taken in summer, when you are in that moment that is just after the calm before the storm. Thank you for this wonderful picture and for your last comment.

Linda, thanks for your comment on one of my photos. Your portfolio is outstanding. This is simply one of many I very much like. The contrast, light B&W effect are terrific. Truly terrific!

Dear Linda

this is a fantastic shot, full of pathos and with a fine composition and tones. I am so fond of black and white, it's with this fascinating technique that the true skills of a good photographer are shown.

Thank you very much for your welcome message and comments to my Callas nr 5 and may I wish you a fantastic 2009

If I had to pick a picture for a full size wall stuck in my living room...it would be this one.

Albeit, when emlarged, grain should still not be visible. It's not your fault, you just need a higher res camera, and maybe a bit less less processing (contrastm sharpness, etc...) that's all.

Otherwise, this picture totally kicks butt and then some, the sky and dramatic clouds, the ground, the far perspective of mountains, the light, the trees and rocks, textures..... it's all there like a song in full harmony. Total mastery...close to perfect. (Best of all ; the clouds and foreground light...that's special)
