jmcconnell2 0 Posted January 31, 2007 This is a really powerful b/w composition Pnina, I love it! Link to comment
sawicki 0 Posted January 31, 2007 There is some striking sadness here... The tree - with its strong shapes, curves, blackness stressed by this light in the background... And this horizon... Great - like a painting. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted January 31, 2007 Those early hours before Dawn are a wonderful time to be out in the world, it's so quiet and serene before the hustle and bustle of daily life. This is a very dramatic B&W, the simplicity of the tree with the drama of the darkened cloudy sky and a small glimmer of the town far far away can evoke a lot of emotions in the viewer. Nice story you've told Pnina. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 31, 2007 Jim, Pawel ( where have you disappeard? ;-)) and Susan, thanks for your nice comments and feedback. (The first fast coming in after a second! to nearly every image are the 3/3's... really a fucked up system.) Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted January 31, 2007 Now I don't bother about the 3s anymore. Already immune. The isolated tree sets the mood of quietness very well. I also like how Darkness slowly givng way to daybreak with hints of light from the sky. Link to comment
biswajit 0 Posted January 31, 2007 Beautiful and dramatic lights, artistic composition. Regards Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted January 31, 2007 Love the nice silhouette of the tree against magical background, and splendid composition, Pnina, what a depth!!! Best regards. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 1, 2007 The silhouette of the tree is marvelous and the dark overall tones create a somber atmosphere--a foreboding emotion. Yet there is light and a city of hope in the distance. A very moody and moving photo. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 1, 2007 Cherlyn, I'm immune as well, use it only because of better visibility, I just think it is a fucked up system.... Biswajite, Richard, Rai, Michael, and Catalin, good feedback thanks! Daily, as usual, short but concise! David, the city far away is a glimps of Jerusalem, as it was taken from the mountains surrounding the city. Thanks for your visit. Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted February 1, 2007 Pnina, I've always felt to make a truely good, dramatic, and meaningful photograph such as this, it has to come from something deep within the artist......Jim Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 2, 2007 Cool what the light and clouds do at dawn and at dusk. I like the composition of this one, Pnina. Warmest regards! Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted February 2, 2007 Lovely, moody shot with terrific light and shadow. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted February 2, 2007 I like the composition. Those distant lights really draw me in and the silhouetted tree is excellent. Is the grainy effect sensor noise orsomething that you have done? Whatever, it is most effective. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 2, 2007 Thanks to all of you, appreciate the feedback. Jeff, the colored version is not grainy, so it is not the sensor( with my experience with the 30 D, even in low light, like in theater images while performing on stage, and 1600 ISO, no grain ), I think that it is my treatment in part and the Jpeg compression, but I think that here it adds to the whole. Thanks. Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted February 2, 2007 You've captured a great moment, Pnina. That nakd tree is a great stage for the birth of a new day. Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted February 2, 2007 Beautiful sombre B&W, Pnina. Sky, lone tree and those lights add to make a great photo. Link to comment
j_m_lee_photography 0 Posted February 3, 2007 Really strong and dramatic. You sure know when to convert it to b/w. Shalom dear Pnina. Link to comment
