I like the tones and backlit composition but would have preferred to have seen all the thorns on the right handside and perhaps a little lower point of view. The end result would have been a perfect wine glass sihouette! But I'm nit picking. Great image!

Thanks John! Yup, I felt the same when I opened up the image. I was standing in some blackberries when I shot this one and had my shoelaces snagged in them. I nearly fell over and spent more time getting untangled when I should have been previewing or I would have taken another.

I think, what stands out for me are the thorns and their color.

I would like to have seen more on the right but, it is what it is and nicely done.

You tread that knife edge between the truly original image and the Nature as Hollywood extravaganza I see so much of. You're doing a nice job walking that slender wire. This is a great image, the composition just canted a bit off center to give it a uniquely individual personality.

Jack, you are again, the first to actually state my objectives. Not crossing that line, to have a photo with drama and punch without the glitz.
