colin carron 58,916 Posted January 28, 2007 A cold winter's day here in the UK with the low sun slanting across fields flooded from the recent rain. All comments welcome! Link to comment
fiona madden 0 Posted January 28, 2007 I might crop a little off either side just to bring the focus to the clouds and water since they are the most interesting parts. Nice atmosphere! Link to comment
behindmyblueeyes 0 Posted January 28, 2007 excellent colours... I love the composition Link to comment
terry foster 0 Posted January 28, 2007 Nice shot Colin, looks like you used a wider lens than the 17-40 you used. Terry. Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted January 28, 2007 To me it's terrific, Colin, The clouds and pools converging toward the background and a fantastic light. That lonely tree is trapped between air and water. Link to comment
alexandra rauh 0 Posted January 28, 2007 Colin, i" blow in the same horn" with Paula "terriffic",looks like the tree mirror's the sky.So well composed, the flooded entrance towards the dream like winter atmosphere. You give it all,a master in landscape.( I have to come back for the 7/7) Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted January 28, 2007 Thanks everyone. I'm pleased the atmosphere got mentioned as that was what I was trying to convey. Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted January 28, 2007 Boy, you sure get some great skys over there and you always seem to capture them well, Colin. Very nice landscape shot! Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted January 28, 2007 Extraordinary sky, colours and composition. The vertical format is essential to make the image outstanding. My best congratulations, Colin. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted January 29, 2007 This is a winner ! Another right place-right time story... Magnificent backlight, the cloudscape is perfect for this motif. I see many triangular elements, and all lines converge nicely towards this strange tree. Mysterious atmosphere, maybe I would try how it looks with a bit darker foreground. What I would change is the barrel distortion, horizon looks better straight or a bit convex, IMO Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 29, 2007 Unbelivable Colin, but the sky form and snow on the green earth are having a similarity of angles ;-))Interesting is the semi circle of light and shadow on the BG.( and in general) and the very nice triangled tree which is connecting earth and sky .I like the composition as is, would not change a thing. colin carron 58,916 Posted January 29, 2007 Thanks everyone! Kim, this sky was a real beauty but there are lots of times when it is plain grey here in the winter. Carsten, I see what you mean about the horizon. I had not thought about it before you mentioned it. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted January 30, 2007 I too would not change a thing of this beautiful composition. Not only gorgeous light & sky, but also beautiful flooded fields & trees. Link to comment
cavagna ottavio 0 Posted January 31, 2007 BELLA E INQUIETANTE.... bella bella bella ... bravo Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted February 1, 2007 The tree and the skies really make this image by themselves, but then you managed to have this wonderful grass and water to boot! What can I say... Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 4, 2007 What a fabulous sky!! I really like this shot ... it's interesting, and a bit unexpected as a landscape because it's not traditional. The tree really adds an essential element to the composition, and the sky is GREAT! :-) Warm regards! Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted February 5, 2007 Another classic Carron landscape image. The image is well composed Colin. Must have been rather fun wading through the water. Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted February 5, 2007 Great! wow, the water in the grass really makes this! Great with that wide angle of yours... Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted February 6, 2007 Thanks everyone. Amar, yes, wet feet! I hope to have a bit more free photography time at some stage soon but at present my schedule is very heavy. Regards to all! Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted February 8, 2007 Another superb image. All is magnificent and retain the attention: the water in the meadow, the tree with its strange shape, the clouds coming from the distance, the light above the horizon and against which other trees and perhaps haystacks stands out. One of your best works. Link to comment
kim_tural 0 Posted February 9, 2007 This is a superb photograph Colin! All the elements working together leading your eye to that spot behind the great silhouette of the tree. Perfect! Link to comment
