Winter Skies

A cold winter's day here in the UK with the low sun slanting across

fields flooded from the recent rain. All comments welcome!

I might crop a little off either side just to bring the focus to the clouds and water since they are the most interesting parts. Nice atmosphere!

To me it's terrific, Colin, The clouds and pools converging toward the background and a fantastic light. That lonely tree is trapped between air and water.

Colin, i" blow in the same horn" with Paula "terriffic",looks like the tree mirror's the sky.So well composed,the flooded entrance towards the dream like winter atmosphere.You give it all,a master in landscape.( I have to come back for the 7/7)

This is a winner ! Another right place-right time story... Magnificent backlight, the cloudscape is perfect for this motif. I see many triangular elements, and all lines converge nicely towards this strange tree. Mysterious atmosphere, maybe I would try how it looks with a bit darker foreground. What I would change is the barrel distortion, horizon looks better straight or a bit convex, IMO

Unbelivable Colin, but the sky form and snow on the green earth are having a similarity of angles ;-))Interesting is the semi circle of light and shadow on the BG.( and in general) and the very nice triangled tree which is connecting earth and sky .I like the composition as is, would not change a thing.

Thanks everyone! Kim, this sky was a real beauty but there are lots of times when it is plain grey here in the winter. Carsten, I see what you mean about the horizon. I had not thought about it before you mentioned it.

I too would not change a thing of this beautiful composition. Not only gorgeous light & sky, but also beautiful flooded fields & trees.

What a fabulous sky!! I really like this shot ... it's interesting, and a bit unexpected as a landscape because it's not traditional. The tree really adds an essential element to the composition, and the sky is GREAT! :-) Warm regards!

Another superb image. All is magnificent and retain the attention: the water in the meadow, the tree with its strange shape, the clouds coming from the distance, the light above the horizon and against which other trees and perhaps haystacks stands out. One of your best works.

This is a superb photograph Colin! All the elements working together leading your eye to that spot behind the great silhouette of the tree. Perfect!
