I have been to JKMF a few times but have never seen a view like this. Thanks for posting this.

Thanks Michael and Daniel. This is actually beyond the forest at the end of the access road, called Maple Springs Observation Point. It would have been the Cherohala skyway, but Land issues re-routed the skyway, and this was the terminus for the first attempt of the skyway. The forest management built a viewing platform for this overlook.

Thanks for the followup. I remember when much what is now the Cherohala skyway was not paved and a lot of the foot trails were dirt roads for a ways. I love that country.

Thanks for visiting Mark. It reminded me to take another look at your portfolio again, I've been busy shooting again. I see there have been some lovely new additions. I'm a sucker for sun above a sea of clouds and this fit the bill perfectly. One day I hope to get the opportunity to shoot somthing like this so well.
