Me and My Shadow

 

David was playing with a flash.

 

Feedback appreciated.

Lovely shadow and lovely subject, very dramatic black and white image. I like her pose very much.

I like it a lot and agree with Alex. My only reservations are her watch which is a bit distracting and the fact that her right arm gets a bit lost in the shadow where it goes behind her back. The pose is wonderful and the use of the shadow as a diagonal element works well.

 

Hopefully there are more of her to come

Owen, Your points are interesting. I have a few reservations about this shot myself. Strangely the watch isn't one of them. The arm being lost in the shadow does bother me but not too much. Thanks for taking the time.

Well David, when you play with a flash you become in a serious issue. It's new for me, usually I avoid flash (used in the conventional way) but this time you gave me a lesson about the clever use of a direct flash. Very well done. And unforgettable model, of course.

Thanks for the comment Carlos. I think it is good to experiment with everything. I must admit, your comment is encoraging me to take a few more 'direct flash' images... but maybe with a twist.
