LenMarriott 9 Posted January 27, 2007 Capture at the Torrance Barrens (Google for info) about a day before winter set in around Central Ontario (about a month and a half late this year). Your views\comments will be gratefully received. Best, LM. Link to comment
greg mccracken 13 Posted January 27, 2007 Nice shot Len! A different approach from the usual broad landscape shots. Well balanced with the stump on the right and shorter Black Spruces on the left. The two planes, foreground and ice are anchored by the two larger spruce. A very well held together detail photo in my opinion! I liked your idea at the time and took a couple imitating your example. LenMarriott 9 Posted January 28, 2007 Greg, Though I'm pleased with the composition, something, either the lower contrast Astia or the glass (more than likely the 100-300 f5.6 Minolta MD Zoom) disappoints me. Wish I had a Velvia 50 example to compare with. Live & learn! Best, LM. Link to comment
greg mccracken 13 Posted February 10, 2007 Hi Len, After reading your comment I thought I'd try to see what it looks like with a duplication of the layer and multiply blend mode. I then added touch of Velvia Vision. You can see the results blow. Not sure if that is any closer to what you were looking for... Link to comment

thadley 15 Posted November 3, 2007 I like this image very much. The blue background with it's various shades and patterns appeals to me. 6/6 Link to comment
