laurentbaig 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Yeah, now we're talking. I like how you've framed the boat by that plant. Great foreground lines and the lighting is awesome. I'd probably shift the view of the camera a little more to the left, though I can understand the pretty light is on the right. My only other comment would be to sharpen the image after you reduce the size; it looks a tad soft. Link to comment
clayton_berg 0 Posted January 24, 2007 As stated the tree branch and sailboat compliment each other nicely. Perhaps a bit more contrast on the sailboat? Perhaps you left it that way to add an element of mystery. Either way, nice effort. Love the light here and the sky. Link to comment
lucyhollis 2 Posted January 24, 2007 Thanks for your comments. I probably should have tried sharpening it the photo for the web. But I didn't want to risk it looking grainy as it is perfectly sharp full size. I'm not sure about the sailboat - this is how it looked to me in real life. About it being a bit dark perhaps - I used a split neutral density filter which meant the sailboat was particularly dark. I did my best to lighten it and the wood which sticks up past the horizon and to bring detail back into it, without it looking artificial. Link to comment
rogerleekam 0 Posted February 20, 2007 I like this image as it is. You are very good at including foreground detail in landscapes which adds interest and also raises the horizon to a perfect position. Good lighting - I think sunset shots are often better with the sun offstage. Takes me back as I worked at the hospital in Bermuda many years ago. Link to comment
