paula grenside 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Thank you so much. Glad you named the solitary tree as it struck me as a "resurrection" and the power of nature to regenerate when it destroys. Link to comment
davidorea 0 Posted January 25, 2007 Lovely Mount St. Helens' view, Paula. Excellent shot! Congrats! Link to comment
schneekranich 0 Posted January 25, 2007 looks very majestic and mysterious - so of course that's a typical Paula-picture! Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted January 26, 2007 Paula this looks exactly like the Mount St. Helens valcano that is close by to where I live! But you couldn't have been so near without letting me know you were coming so it must be a different mountain. 8~)#You saw it on a good day, I'm happy for you! Link to comment
marco_ruggiero 0 Posted January 26, 2007 Great image and I agree with Pnina, for me the tree gives us the feeling of that indomitable spirit that refuses to give up even in the face of great catastrophies and of even greater majesty. Congratulations. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted January 26, 2007 Paula, Though my thoughts are purely compositional, agreeing with Collin & Pnina, not deep & philosophical like Marco, the tree is essential in providing depth and is excellently placed in the frame as is the mountain. Love the backlighting here. Helps with the feeling of depth. You've done well with a mid day approach, a time often looked down upon as usually producing an inferior image due to the flat lighting conditions. Best, LM. Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted January 27, 2007 Andrea, thanks for what you write: this is a plave shot thousands of times; I am glad you find it Paula-like:-) Shawn, I think it's the same Mount St. Helens. I didn't know you lived close to it; to tell the truth I didn't even know I'd reach this place, it was a wonderful excursion Jay took my friends and me to. But next time you won't escape the Italian invasion. Biswajit, thank you so much. Marco, grazie infinite per lo squisito commento a questa immagine. Len, you can't imagine how deeplyI appreciate your careful read, both technical and emotional, of this image. Link to comment
