joanie_boucher 0 Posted February 16, 2007 I like this. I don't find it remotely erotic, however it's intriguing to me as a composition, and I appreciate that simple yet interesting arrangment with something that would normally evoke eroticism. The 2 things I would change if you have an opportunity to reshoot: I'd increase your depth of field so the back leg was in focus. As it is such a straightforward and compositional shot I think this would add a lot. Also the light (?) peeking through his legs is distracting. It would help the balance of darks & lights if you photoshopped it out (or reshot to omit it if you don't like to photoshop). Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 16, 2007 I must (respectfully, of course, because we all have our own visions), disagree with Joannie. I like the back leg blurred as it provides a good background for the penis and I also like the light peeking out from behind as it adds a little mystery, which is already set up by the foreground shirt and the entire composition. I think this shot is unique and simple. Like it very much and appreciate it's refreshing approach. Link to comment
jay sturdevant 0 Posted February 16, 2007 This is interesting, two members commenting about this photo have stated they don't find this image erotic. In all the female nudes I have viewed on Phot.net (that's a lot!) I don't ever remember reading whether anyone considered them erotic or not, it seems it is a given that they are artistic in intent and personal feelings about erotic nature are unspoken. Is it the name of the folder this image comes from that causes the disclaimer or is it that male genetalia are more controversial subject matter. Just wondering out loud. Link to comment
msr 0 Posted February 17, 2007 Thanks all for commenting. Actually I want to re-arrange this folder for quite a while (I am look for the right idea...and time). This particular image is not actually meant to be erotic in its essence. It's all about male nudity. And the shirt is also revealing of some general unconfort about it (at least in our culture here). I particularly like the forground blurred. (btw, for those who looked at it twice, this is was rotated....) Link to comment
leon_roijen 0 Posted May 21, 2011 I agree with Joanie, it's not really erotic but quite intruiging indeed! Link to comment
msr 0 Posted May 23, 2011 I feel very happy, This photo was ment to some sort of statement about male nudity.I guess 4 years past by and 7571 views, its rewarding. Also rewarding about the discussion it endorsed. That's all about it.Likes and dislikes, and opinions how it could be improved. I thank all. Link to comment
