LenMarriott 9 Posted January 23, 2007 Well, granted, there are more colourful versions than this one but I wanted to record the diversity of varieties & thus we have this shot. Anyone else out there like recording these ornamental vegetables? Comments\critiques will be gratefully received. Best, LM. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted January 23, 2007 Hi Len, has to be seen large, looking at the cabbage form so close (macro), it is really a very nice creation of nature. It reminds me some women skirts decoration... it means that some of our women cloths design were taken from natural forms like that cabbage ...;-) Reffering to the photo, I would have liked it as a full circle( like I wrote you in the previous version), Especially the left cropped side is disturbing to me, BUT ,I like the very well accentuated details, the colors and the good exposure and light. At the large version we can see the "laced" decoration on the end of the different leaves( Like layers). I like also the BG, that looks like blood vessels and is a good contrast of color.... in General well presented Len. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted January 23, 2007 Anthony, Thanks for dropping in. The delicate patterns & fine detail are the elements that drew me in too. Best, LM. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted January 23, 2007 Pnina, First you tell me that this is where babies come from; now you saying this is the source of women's fashions? How can I ever trust your opinions in the future? :-) Composition a bit lopsided you say? Sorry but that's just how I see the world. Might explain all the horn honking as I drive down the highway hugging, or straddling, the center line. Must learn to place my vehicle in a more symmetrical orientation on the road. Best, LM. pnital 36 Posted January 24, 2007 Len! you have to adjust to my imagination, my two children were brought to me right from the cabbage !! LOL, and my skirt has the same format at the rim? (is it the right word?) well it is imaginative/reality you see.....;-)) Be carfull when you drive... I enjoy your company here! Link to comment

irenan 0 Posted January 29, 2007 *Laugh* When I first saw the flowering veggies I was stunned. Never thought they could be so decorative. I managed to shot the flowering kale - http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/41703329/ - and purple cabbage. None were so good looking like this one though. Link to comment
irenan 0 Posted January 29, 2007 Ouch, I'm new to this site so placing links is beyond me. Sorry. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted January 29, 2007 Irena, Your comments are truly appreciated. I hesitated at first to photograph these white ones because I didn't think there was enough colour here. Surprise, surprise. Lots more colour than first meets the eye. I will do this exercise again next year having learned a thing or two about them. Best, LM. Link to comment
