AJHingel 127 Posted January 23, 2007 Yet another sunset ! but I find that this photo taken from the rigth bank of the Seine river in Paris towards the Cathedral is something special. What do you think ? Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted January 24, 2007 I think it is special, also. Its a very nice photo of the much photographed Notre Dame. I like the unusual colors of the water reflecting an exceptional sunset. I like the fact that it is not too bright. The darkness adds mystery and has a calming effect on my senses. The use of framing with the tree to hide some of the city adds to the mystery. I might have tried to remove the post in the left foreground. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted January 25, 2007 Thanks M.M. for your comments that show that you see the photo as I do. For me it is reproduces the sentiments I have for the city. Concerning your remark on the pole I could of course clone it away but I kept it because I think the branches of the tree needs some kind of attachment to play their role as "curtain" to the scene - if you know what I mean. AJHingel 127 Posted July 28, 2007 Thank Pierre I love this photo. For me this is Paris as I see it far more moving than many of my other Paris photos although I always seem tosearch the same expression. Your suggestion of removing the pole must be a joke ! Who should I ask : The city, the State ?? I'm sure no Frenchman is alive to tell who put it there !! Yes I could clone it away without asking anybody, but actualy I like the shadow it makes in the water. that's why I left it where it was found. But of course your are right the scene does not benefit from it apart from maybe bringing some more "weigth" to the left of the frame where the lady is about to go to sleep. Link to comment
