Scene of a dance while performing by Anat Gregorio, a dancer I work with.

Thanks for your impressions, Pnina

Very good exposure, light & composition,Pnina. She appears to me like a character from Shakesperean Tragedy(Lady Macbeth).

Tricky lighting, the lamp could easily have overpowered the figure but as she is looking at it it becomes a centre against which the figure and the darkness are opposed like moths round a candle.

Very unique mood created here with this image. I like how she is focus on the lamp as I am. Great presentation and mood. Also thank you for your comment on the bias issue in the forum. Well done image and thanks for sharing.

Pnina, The close proximity of the light source to the subject keeps the eye anchored to her. The negative space works well here providing a feeling of isolation. Fine subject placement. I have tried brightening her body using 'curves' and it seems to work well for me; lowers the contrast between light source and subject giving her less competition & therefore greater prominence. Try it & see. Best, LM.

Hi Len, again a possibility, thanks for your time, but I like better the mood where she is not so accentuated. In your example she and the lamp are having the same strength,as it was on stage, she was nearly hidden and the lamp had the main role....

Anyway Len, always a pleasure to have your point of view!

The light picks out the curves and features very well. I'm not sure I like so much blackness around her but then I'm afraid of the dark and sleep with a nightlight on.

It's amazing what you can achieve with that light, you've conquered the darkness, beautiful composition. My compliments, :-) Cristi
