amalsircar 2 Posted January 23, 2007 Very good exposure, light & composition,Pnina. She appears to me like a character from Shakesperean Tragedy(Lady Macbeth). Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted January 23, 2007 Tricky lighting, the lamp could easily have overpowered the figure but as she is looking at it it becomes a centre against which the figure and the darkness are opposed like moths round a candle. Link to comment
peacecheck 0 Posted January 23, 2007 Very unique mood created here with this image. I like how she is focus on the lamp as I am. Great presentation and mood. Also thank you for your comment on the bias issue in the forum. Well done image and thanks for sharing. Link to comment

David, glad to see you here, I simply agree with you there, but I rarly write in that forun anymore, not worth the time, but you have written what I was thinking as well , that why I have answered you. BTW, I have glimpsed at your work and liked what I saw, and will visit soon, Thank you for being faster than me...;-)) Daily, it was some sort of the lump reflection( what an eye !) richard hans 0 Posted January 23, 2007 Very nice & peaceful atmosphere, makes mystical feel with magical effect of the lighting, Pnina, EXCELLENT!!! Best regards. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted January 24, 2007 Pnina, The close proximity of the light source to the subject keeps the eye anchored to her. The negative space works well here providing a feeling of isolation. Fine subject placement. I have tried brightening her body using 'curves' and it seems to work well for me; lowers the contrast between light source and subject giving her less competition & therefore greater prominence. Try it & see. Best, LM. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted January 24, 2007 Pnina, Oh, heck, here's what I mean. (don't know how to add it to my previous statement) Best, LM. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 24, 2007 Hi Len, again a possibility, thanks for your time, but I like better the mood where she is not so accentuated. In your example she and the lamp are having the same strength,as it was on stage, she was nearly hidden and the lamp had the main role.... Anyway Len, always a pleasure to have your point of view! Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 24, 2007 The light picks out the curves and features very well. I'm not sure I like so much blackness around her but then I'm afraid of the dark and sleep with a nightlight on. Link to comment
mmene 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Very nice and atmospheric mood. I like cropping and lighting too much. Link to comment
tecrif 0 Posted January 25, 2007 It's amazing what you can achieve with that light, you've conquered the darkness, beautiful composition. My compliments, :-) Cristi Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted January 26, 2007 Pnina, beautiful "night" scene. She does emerge from darkness just like an apparition. Very well done. Link to comment
armindo_lopes 1 Posted February 10, 2007 I agree with your answer to Len. Besides your argument, it gives a mistery atmosphere to the image. Beautiful image. Link to comment
