italy - 2006, 2007, 2008 stone

In Italy, a country rich in stone, I have the occasion to admire the

multitude of pavements in stone.

 

This is one of them.

Assuming the edges of the center slab are parallel, I think this would have worked better if you positioned yourself so the camera was exactly in the center, and each "stripe" was about the same width, or more off-center to put the emphasis on the contrasting colors and textures. Right now it has the feel of a rushed shot with not much thought put into the final product but the fact that you saw this in the first place suggests otherwise.

I was more worried about finding clean surfaces of stone (no rests of cigaretes, leaves etc) and so haven't thought of what you told. Will do so soon, since I see such surfaces many times.
