awhitt99 0 Posted January 22, 2007 I was stumped with framing, so I just ran my usual automated framing style. Any suggestions for crop/framing would be appreciated. Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted January 22, 2007 This is how your image would look with a drop shadow and framing using a color match with your picture. I use the drop shadow all the time, now. If you like the look, let me know and I'll pass on how to do it. Friends here on PN taught me this past year and I love it! :) By the way, the grater makes for a wonderful abstract. awhitt99 0 Posted January 22, 2007 Thanks Leslie. I like the look of that much better. Are you using both a drop shadown on the image itself and an inner shadow on the framing part? I never think much to frame my images, but it definitely does make them more presentational for the web. Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted January 23, 2007 After sizing the image, I make a background copy. While on that copy, I create a canvas that is a total of 100 pixels larger in width and height...this gives a 50 pixel per side border. Then, I use the rectangular marquee tool close to the outer edge of the border to create the frame...I select inverse, then fill with black or use the eyedropper to color match with something in the image. If you color match, you will use the paint bucket to fill the frame you created. Then, I go to layer style and choose drop shadow. I set the settings to 120 degrees for the angle, distance at 6 px, spread at 5%, and size at 16 px. I don't use any other settings. This will give you the shadow on the frame and the print. Hope this helps. Leslie Link to comment
j.k._york 0 Posted January 23, 2007 nice linear pattern augmented by great shadowing and hightlights. the wear and tear is represented well. i do like leslie's frame work on this. i like these simple, yet effective shots. regards, J.K. Link to comment
jgalyon 0 Posted October 11, 2007 no disrespect for Leslie's framing...but i like the original far better. your photograph is very graphic and IMHO works much better in a frame that is of like style. Link to comment
