AJHingel 127 Posted January 21, 2007 Buildings that are build to express the power of the owners, often communicate the inhuman working conditions of modern life. How to express that by photos ? What do you think ? Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted January 21, 2007 The descending diagonal, the self-contained building complex, the lifeless scenery, work together, can communicate your idea well IMO. Maybe I would prefer the tones shifted a bit towards the darker end, and a slight S curve for more contrast Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted January 22, 2007 Thanks Carsten. You are fully right that another option would be to go back to the curves to get a little more contrast and slightly darker photo. I chose to keep it fairly "flat" not to highlight the individual office windows representing individuals and daily work and instead approach an image of a massive unapproachable inhuman block of administration. I don't if I succeeded in transmitting that message. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted January 27, 2007 Wow, Anders ... I wasn't even thinking about the symbolism when I was looking at this shot. I was fascinated by the reflections of the clouds in the mirrors. Sorry - at this point if I tried to answer your question, my answer would be a bit contrived. Let's just say that I like this, and it works really well in B&W. :-) Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted January 29, 2007 Thanks Lou. If you tried to work in a thing like that you would know what I mean. Imagine to put kids into it, expecting to do them good ! By the way, it is a telecom company that build it so they should know what communication is all about. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted January 30, 2007 Well, I'll need to show you a photo of my school ... it's a very unattractive building. There are parents living in the area who go to great lengths to have their kids transferred to other schools because they think that our building looks like a prison.... Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted October 25, 2007 It feels cold and detached. The bridge between these two buildings is the only element that provides a sense of communication here. I find the reflections of the cloud fascinating. These buildings are so empty of essence that they only mirror what is reflected on them. I think you conveyed your feeling successfully.
