I like it. Simple, atractive, powerful, not too setup. On my monitor background of the shot and image border competes (not same). Maybe thin line that would separate both or little brighter gradient?

Very nice. Black then black & white then color. With so much "hidden" it makes you wonder what was left out. Very good composition and use of color.

This caught my attention, very striking, love the dark space on the right.

Good shot, liking it, but I'd crop the "thing" in the bottom right corner.

Alec, I can't argue about the catchlight. However, I do think the dark eye gives a stronger sense of mystery. Maybe I am wrong.

I think if you'd darkened the background, you'd have lost the detail of the fuzz around the edge of the scarf or whatever it is...meaning I think it's fine just as it is. I agree with you about the dark eyes...no catchlight needed.

You are correct. You do lose some detail in the fuzz when it is darkened. Perhaps not as much as you thought though! Thanks a lot!

Thanks again Robin. I try to experiment with composition as much as possible. Having said that, I like this particular style of shot and may upload similar pictures later.
