color 3 Posted January 19, 2007 I took this shot today in my favorite-ly decorated bar in town. It has closed. The building was sold. It probably will change. I liked the decoration and asked the new owner to let me in and take some pictures to document the place. This is the first shot I've processed from the shoot. Hope you enjoy it. If you have suggestions or comments, I'd like to see them. Link to comment
juan-de-santa-anna 0 Posted February 5, 2008 What an appropriate name for the image...This inside the bar and restaurant series makes me want to go and get a cold one...Psssst.. Ok I did... I am glad you got these shots...This week I went to shoot an old homestead I like to shoot often....it was torn down and a real estate sign up in it's place...asking for $6.6 million...You once again have gathered some memories to share with those that made them here...I guess that be you too....I like all of these in this series...this one with the kitchen utensils I like a little more than the guitars...only because I can cook better than I can play the guitar...Juan Link to comment
juan-de-santa-anna 0 Posted February 5, 2008 Holy shit I just realized these images are all from the same establishment! What a shame this place is closed...My condolences...Juan Link to comment
color 3 Posted February 5, 2008 Actually the pictures are from three different bars. There was a chain of about 30 of them built in the 70s. They were called "American Fare" or something like that. I think they were decorated by the same people. They all have a similar look. The one in this picture is closed. The other two in the series are open. All three are within 60 miles or so of where I live. Once I discovered the others I made it a point to go to them and shoot some. This one has been closed for a year now. I've thought about going back there and shooting some more. I know what you mean about shooting something, going back, and finding it's no longer there. Some of the other pictures in my portfolio are of things in that category. Yes, it is sad, but that kind of stuff makes compelling, interesting photos. Link to comment
