nursegal 0 Posted January 17, 2007 Beautiful. I think black and white is appropriate for this picture. Great job! Link to comment
jim umbaugh 0 Posted January 18, 2007 Absolutely beautiful... complete down to the old tin room.... It would have been terrible to do this pic in anything but black and white. 6/6 Jim Umbaugh Link to comment

tholte 16,587 Posted January 18, 2007 Very nice shot Doug and nice conversion to BW. Can you go in this house? Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted January 18, 2007 Thank you all, sincerely. Tim, I guess that depends on one's nerve (of which I am woefully deficient). There are several 'No Trespassing' signs, and the house is near a highway. Getting in unseen would be unlikely. I may try to find the owner and ask for permission. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted January 18, 2007 Wow. What a beautiful and prized house this must have been when it was built. This was not a poor man's house. What a shame that it has not been cared for. I take it you do not have any history on it.?. You've got just the right angle to show off its nice all-american architecture. This place screams for restoration. Link to comment
janiebarber 0 Posted January 18, 2007 what a great shot and an awesome house!!! Looks as if it has some neat gingerbread. If you recall I think I told you the story of one day I wanted to redo and old home like this and now I live in an old home that needs upgrading. After getting older and my priorities have changed, all I want to do is take shots of these old homes. Boy, have I done a complete turn around.!!!! P.S. I feel the same as you on those no trespassing signs. Link to comment
tholte 16,587 Posted January 18, 2007 Doug, "No Trespassing" signs are for the public, not photographers. Plus, you can defend yourself if need be. I would like to have someone get inside and look out one of the windows so I could shoot them. Would be great to shoot in the Spring when the leaves are on the trees also. Link to comment
